    • Seeing "CutVii is damaged"?

CutVii is not notarized by an Apple Developer account yet, so macOS blocks it on first launch with this (misleading) message. This short video shows how to open it anyway.

After moving CutVii to Applications, run this once in Terminal, then open it again:

xattr -cr /Applications/CutVii.appContinue download · CutVii_1.0.3_aarch64.dmg(opens in a new tab)
      SHA-256 6983104362ae3896822515752a31496c7e4101af2d258af893070a83032072c1

Not notarized yet, so macOS may say CutVii is "damaged". Run xattr -cr /Applications/CutVii.app in Terminal once. The install help shows how.

  • Linux

    v1.0.3 · Debian/Ubuntu and AppImage

    • Debian/Ubuntu
    • AppImage

Recommended: install the .deb with sudo apt install ./CutVii_*_amd64.deb, which also installs the video codecs the preview needs. AppImage: run chmod +x on the file, then open it. If the preview says a video cannot be played, install the codecs: sudo apt install gstreamer1.0-libav gstreamer1.0-plugins-good gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad (Fedora: sudo dnf install gstreamer1-libav gstreamer1-plugins-good gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free), then restart CutVii.

macOS minimum
macOS 10.15 is set in the build, but has not been tested.
