Privacy policy
This policy describes what cutvii.space and the CutVii app actually do. It will be updated before any analytics, data collection or accounts are added.
This website
The site collects no personal data itself. It runs no analytics, no ad trackers and no third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from this site. The only exception is the YouTube player on lesson pages with a video and in the install help window on the Download page (see below). The list of downloads is fetched from GitHub by our server, not by your browser.
What is stored in your browser
Your language choice and marketplace region (cookies named NEXT_LOCALE and CUTVII_REGION) and, on Learn pages, your lesson progress (localStorage). They are functional, stay in your browser, contain no identifiers, and the cookies expire after a year.
Hosting
Our hosting provider (to be announced) may log standard request data such as your IP address, as with any website.
Links to other services
Links to GitHub, Lynk, Gumroad and payment pages open those services. Their own privacy policies apply there, and purchases are processed by them, not by us.
Videos on lesson pages and install help
Lesson pages that contain a video, and the install help window on the Download page (only after you open it), load an embedded YouTube player (youtube-nocookie.com) from Google. When the player opens, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies as described in YouTube's own privacy policy. No other page loads it. Your lesson progress stays in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent to us.
The CutVii app
The desktop app is local-first and has no account. Your media is never uploaded. Its only network use is the optional update check (which you can turn off) and model downloads that you explicitly agree to.
